What Is Obstetrical Care?

Obstetrical care is a term used to describe the management of both normal and complicated pregnancy as well as the delivery and postpartum periods. Because pregnancy is one of the most important parts of a woman’s life, it is essential to have the proper medical care to have a healthy pregnancy.

During pregnancy, a woman should visit her doctor on a regular basis. These visits will involve physical examinations, blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor the growth and development of the baby. The doctor will also discuss options for the delivery process, working with the mother to ensure her pregnancy, labor and delivery are as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

At OC Women’s Care, we provide quality obstetrical care to keep you and your baby healthy. Our experienced team, led by Dr. Sedaghat, helps each patient every step of the way with specialized care during pregnancy, labor, delivery and the postpartum period.

Most women experience a healthy and uncomplicated pregnancy. However, some women experience high-risk pregnancies which may have many causes, such as:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions
  • Advanced maternal age
  • Lifestyle choices
